Ethanol extraction equipment: practical platform for centrifuges
The new 2020 CUP Series Alcohol Extraction System is now fully patented (Patent #10814338), UL/CUL 1389, PSI reviewed and ISO 9001 certified. This makes the CUP Series the first American-made extraction equipment to meet these respected industry standards. What do these certifications mean to you, our customer? They help you get your lab up and running quickly by expediting approval from your local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction), thereby reducing business risk. But more importantly, certifications and industry standards also ensure the safety of your facilities and employees.

About the CUP Series Ethanol Extraction System
The CUP Series (CUP-15 and CUP-30) is capable of extracting and targeting compounds from a wide range of plant materials. The Centrifuge Utility Platform (CUP) combines closed-loop alcohol extraction with mechanical centrifugation to ensure high-purity, consistent extraction. This extraction technology allows for efficient separation of desired separations by targeting specific plant compounds with programmable sequences. the CUP system removes 97% of alcohol from biomass, simplifying production time and maximizing extraction rates. designed and built in northern California, Delta Separations has taken the process to a new level in the United States.

    Learn more about ethanol extraction
All plants, such as cannabis, produce an essential oil. To obtain this oil, a solvent is usually used to separate the oil from the plant matter. Ethanol allows the extractor to concentrate the plant oil into a more refined end product that can then be used alone or infused into food or for topical use. Ethanol, also known as alcohol (a colorless, volatile, flammable liquid) is an ideal solvent for the extraction process because it is a polar solvent that readily mixes with water and dissolves water-soluble molecules such as chlorophyll, but also has the ability to dissolve many other non-polar molecules compounds, such as cannabinoids. Ethanol is also readily available and cost effective. Using the proper ethanol extraction equipment, thousands of pounds of cannabis and other plant products can be efficiently extracted each day. The ethanol extraction process can be performed in warm, cold or room temperature conditions, depending on your desired end product. For warm or room temperature ethanol extraction, ethanol is used to quickly wash the plant material, resulting in a full spectrum concentrate. For cold ethanol extraction, an industrial extraction cooler can be used to provide frozen ethanol for extraction. Cold ethanol extraction is best suited for producing concentrated cannabinoid fractions and isolates, as it does not readily extract water-soluble compounds such as chlorophyll.
Is ethanol safe for CBD extraction?
Due to its highly flammable nature, ethanol itself can be a dangerous chemical. However, using ethanol to extract CBD (buy cbd extraction equipment online from Careddi) from cannabis is a safe process if high quality extraction equipment is used. Advanced extraction equipment evaporates all of the ethanol, leaving a negligible amount in the product. In addition, new solvent recovery processes can recover up to 98% of the ethanol and reuse it for future extractions. While ethanol extraction does have its risks, it is arguably a safer process compared to other extraction methods. Hydrocarbon extraction (using butane or propane as the solvent to extract the plant material, then heating the mixture to evaporate the solvent and leave the extract) and CO2 extraction (placing CO2 under high pressure until it becomes fluid, extracting the plant material, and then returning the CO2 to the gas phase to separate the extract) pose more risks and take longer to learn.
