An offer can be generally revoked at ANY time before acceptance EVEN IF he has said he will leave it open for specific period of time.

If notice of revocation is received (fax/scan/email) but not read till following day, courts will decide when communication takes place depending on reasonable expectation of the sender

If offeree rejects the original offer either expressly or impliedly by making a counter offer, the offer will terminate and no contract formed.

Offeror may specify that the offer will stay open only for a particular time. If not the offer will terminate after a reasonable time.
