When we take on the majority view because we think the group is right. This leads to public and private acceptance of the group’s beliefs.

This is when you publicly go along with the majority as you want to gain approval. Privately however you do not change your attitude

This is when you identify with the group and want to be part of it. You act in the same way as the group but we don’t necessarily agree with everything the group believes.
