Name a disease caused by a protist (how is it spread, what are the symptoms and how can infection be prevented)

Malaria is caused by a protist -Mosquitos act as vectors for the disease, picking up the protist when feeding on an infected animal, and when feeding on another animal infecting it by inserting the protist into the animal's blood vessels -Causes repeated episodes of fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, and can be fatal -stopping mosquitos from breeding can prevent the spread of malaria, and people can protect themselves from mosquitos by using insecticides and mosquito nets
