    Most people will have to give a public speech at some point in their lives. But a majority of people say that they dread the thought of speaking to an audience. So you need to learn to conquer that fear. Country Language tips below can help you do just that and give a speech to be proud of.

    Know the length of your speech. This allows you to edit the speech if necessary to keep it at the right length. If you need to fill in more time, look for more pertinent information on the topic. Also remember, you never want to rush through your speech; remember to pace yourself.

    The way you look can determine how well you do at public speaking. If you are not well-groomed or dressed at your best, you are not going to feel very confident with yourself. This lack of confidence may cause you more fear and could mess up your whole speech. So, be sure to look your best!

    Know your surroundings. Take a few moments when you arrive to acquaint yourself with your surroundings. If you can arrive early, go to the podium and do a soundcheck before your audience arrives. If you have visual aids, practice using them while you are orientating yourself with your surroundings.

    When making a speech, know the concepts of your topics to start with. Do broad research and view the topic from different perspectives. Then pare this down to a few carefully crafted main points that are easy to follow. You'll know your prep was worth it when your audience is engaged enough to participate eagerly in a Q&A session.

    Be aware of who your audience really is. If there is a way, find things out about some individuals in the audience. If possible, greet a couple of them and find out what their names are. This will give the event a more personal atmosphere.

    Do not chew gum or eat when you are making a speech. The chewing is unprofessional and distracts your audience. It is permissible to sip from a glass of water occasionally so that your throat does not get dry. Keep that to a minimum too, as it serves as a distraction from your message.

    Visit your hairdresser on the day of your speech. Nothing gives you more confidence than looking and feeling great. Purchase a new suit which makes you feel good to bolster your confidence levels. Audience members will take note of you when you are dressed for success and exude a sense of confidence.

    If you must do a lot of extemporaneous speaking, be sure to keep up on current events and topics of interest. In this way, you will always have something new and interesting to say. Remember that it is usually best to choose a complimentary approach rather than a humorous one unless you are extremely sure of your ability to amuse people!

    To increase your effectiveness as a public speaker, maintain good posture when you speak. To inspire confidence you should stand comfortably upright and avoid common posture problems such as slouching or leaning to one side during the presentation. If you don't intend to use gestures keep your hands in a neutral position, either straight down at your sides or in front of the body with one hand over the other at about navel height. Hold the attention of your audience by adopting a calm and upright demeanor.

    Try to find humor in the situation if things do not go as planned. There are many variables when you Country Language, which means that there are many opportunities for things to go wrong. The microphone or projector may not work, there may be an interruption in power or someone may enter the room in the midst of your speech. Try to take things in stride. Taking things too seriously can result in you having a meltdown, so try to laugh off any issues that may arise.

    If there are problems with the lighting, the sound equipment or anything else, take it in stride. Don't get angry or overwhelmed. Stay dignified and helpful until the problem is resolved. Pick up your speech where you left off and just move forward. People will remember your grace under pressure.

    If you plan to give multiple speeches within a short period of time, take care to protect your vocal cords. A hoarse or inaudible voice is not likely to sway audience members' opinions. Sleep with a humidifier in your room, sip hot tea, and drink plenty of water throughout the day.
