Turn water off with dry paper towel
Approach sink, do not let uniform touch anything and do not touch inside of sink
Rinse with fingertips down (do not flick water)
Turn on water
Wet wrists and hands, point hands and fingertips downward
Lather hands (20-30 seconds), rubbing palms, bewtween fingers, cuticles, nails in palm of hand creating firction
Lather 1 inch above wrist
Dry with paper towel (from fingers to wrists), drop in trash with each use

Ask resdient of they are dizzy
Pivot-transfer to WC with one smooth movement and resident cannot take a step

Replace the leg support

Have resident put arms on shoulders and say on the count of 1-2-3
Place your leg alongside resident's weak leg for support and to prevent slipping
Bring wheelchair to side of bed
Put gait belt on and ask resident if it is too tight/too loose and make sure feet are securely on floor
Say on the count of 1-2-3
Fold linens to the foot of bed (do not fluff)
Wheelchair is close to bed (transfer to be a piviot) and lock WC before pivot-transfer
Put residents shoes on
Remove leg support from wheelchair
Put head of bed in sitting postion
Face WC out of room and unlock WC wheels, do not lock wheels

Only expose body parts you are working with
Ankle- 3 times
Shoulder- 3 times
Hip and Knee- 3 times
Elbow- 3 times

Rinse front-back and use same steps for washing
Fold wash cloth into quarters
Replce bedding then remove bath blanket
4th petal down middle (again)
1st quarter- up one cheek
Pat area dry
3rd quarter- inner thigh
1st quarters- inner thigh
Raise bed
Switch wash clothes into quaters
Take 3rd wash cloth for rinisng (only water)
Position mannequin with spine curved, abdomen in, postion legs, check if mannequin is stable
Get new wash cloth to rinse (have only water)
Put on new gloves to remove barrier towel and clean out basin
Only expose peri-area--cover back as you are working
Wash front to back and spread labia
Test water temperature on residents wrist/arm
Roll mannequin on back and flex knee (wrap bed blanket around legs, covering feet)
Wet rinsing wash cloth, form "leaves" with corners
3rd petal down other side
Replace bed protector with clean one
Remove one glove to open the cabinet door to put basin away
Put wash cloth in soiled linen bag
1st petal- "corkscrew" on anus
Turn mannequin on side and walk to other side of bed
1st petal down middle
2nd petal- up the "great divine"
Set supplies on barrier towel
Replace bath blanket/covering resident
Wet and soap 1st wash cloth, form "leaves" with corners
Rinse peri area in same order (corkscrew, great divine, cheek, cheek) using 2 petals and 2 quarters
Remove old bed protector and replace with a new bed protector
2nd quarter- up other cheek
Apply soap to washcloth (2 petals-to quarters)
Remove gloves to replace bedding, lower bed, and provide call light
Dispose wash cloth in dirty pile in bag
Put first set of gloves on
Position mannequin on back
Pat dry

Pat dry including between toes (gently)
Support the foot/ankle on towel, wash including toes, under toes, between toes (gently) and scrub heel with wash cloth
Put on clean sock; then shoe
Fill basin 50% warm water and have resident check water temperature
Empty, rinse, dry basin, take care of dirty linens
Lay barrier(s) on floor and place supplies on top
Wet wash cloth, form mitt, apply soap
Put gloves on and sit on stool (90 degree angle) with towel across lap
Remove gloves
Foot in basin to rinse
Pat off excess lotion
Remove gloves
Soak feet (10-20 minutes)
Warm lotion in hands, apply to top and bottom of feet only, never between toes
